3) Supplement to the 2026 Election Announcement: BOD Election Results (click here).

Dear CAPA Members:

This year’s CAPA Board of Directors election resulted in an unprecedented and exciting outcome—a tie between two highly qualified candidates, Dr. Qun Wang and Dr. Huihua Li. In the spirit of strong leadership and continued commitment to our mission, the CAPA Board has approved a thoughtful plan to welcome both candidates into leadership roles over the next two years.

After CAPA President, Zaibo Li, collaborative and constructive discussions with these two candidates regarding the best path forward, we are pleased to share a gracious resolution. Dr. Huihua Li has generously agreed to defer his term and will officially join the CAPA Board in 2027 to fill an anticipated vacancy, while Dr. Qun Wang will begin her term this year. This solution allows the organization to avoid the logistical challenges of a run-off election and ensures a smooth and seamless leadership transition.
As a result, there will be three Board of Directors seats available in the 2027 election. To prevent future ambiguity, the CAPA Board is also drafting a bylaw amendment to formally establish a clear process for resolving election ties. This proposed amendment will be submitted for member approval during the next election cycle.
Please join us in expressing our sincere appreciation to Dr. Huihua Li for his collaborative spirit, and in congratulating all of our newly elected Board members as they begin their service.

Thank you once again for your participation in the CAPA election!
